Casa – Pueblito
Kenoli Foundation is happy to announce that we have entered a partnership with Casa – Pueblito, a Canadian and Nicaraguan organization, to implement a project in the community of Santa Julia, of El Crucero, Department of Managua Nicaragua.
Santa Julia is a rural community where nearly 60% of the households are headed by women. Migration rates are high, particularly among youth. The goal of the project is to strengthen agroecology practices and marketing of the Gloria Quintanilla Women’s Cooperative and the Small Producers’ Cooperative. The work will focus on enhancing agroecological farming, fostering gender-equitable decision-making, creating opportunities for selling their produce and developing a comprehensive community risk management plan.
Casa – Pueblito has been working in Nicaragua since 1992. They amalgamated from two organizations: Casa Canadiense and Pueblito Canada. The organization takes a solidarity approach to addressing poverty, exclusion and gender inequality.
Kenoli is proud to welcome Casa – Pueblito to the Kenoli network of partners and friends in Central America in fostering a more just, equitable and sustainable world!
