In a community where poverty is rampant, and access to education seems like a distant dream, Hogar Luceros steps in as a beacon of hope. With 60% of the population in Camoapa living in extreme poverty, their work is crucial in providing opportunities where none seemed possible.  The Foundation focuses on the most vulnerable families, recognizing that they can’t assist everyone but aim to reach those most in need. With around 18,000 people living in dire conditions, prioritizing assistance is a necessity.

Hogar Luceros, since its inception, has been dedicated to improving the living standards of families, particularly children facing extreme social vulnerability. They believe in a holistic approach, ensuring children’s rights to education, health, nutrition, and a safe environment are upheld.

Their impact speaks volumes, with 345 children between the ages of five and eighteen benefiting from their programs. These children, coming from both urban and rural areas, are given the chance to break the cycle of poverty through education and comprehensive support. This includes school meals, extracurricular activities, and school reinforcement. Hogar Luceros also works with 30 pregnant adolescents who are in vulnerable situations, providing them with holistic care services, from the moment the girls get involved in the program until a year after they deliver.
