The Kenoli Foundation is pleased to introduce two new organizations in Nicaragua (ALDEMA and FEDICAMP) and one in Guatemala (Juntos Podemos).

ALDEMA

The Asociación de Liderazgo y Desarrollo en Madriz (ALDEMA) is an organization working in the department of Madriz, located in Nicaragua’s dry corridor. ALDEMA implements projects that strengthen the capacities of children, youth, women, men, and community leaders in areas such as economic empowerment, the cycle of violence, positive masculinities, gender, biointensive gardens, conservation agriculture, climate change, environmental education, agroecological demonstration farms, technical assistance to micro and small enterprises (MiPymes), and seed capital support.

Through the project funded by Kenoli, ALDEMA aims to reduce the vulnerability of families in the communities of San Francisco and La Manzana, in the municipality of San Lucas. Participants will gain knowledge in organic farming and poultry management, enabling them to enhance their livelihoods and improve their quality of life.

FEDICAMP

Several years ago, the Federación para el Desarrollo Integral entre Campesinos y Campesinas (FEDICAMP) partnered with the Kenoli Foundation. After reapplying, a new project was approved in January 2025. This initiative focuses on improving the health, hygiene, and nutrition of children in three rural schools in the municipality of Pueblo Nuevo, in the department of Estelí. The project includes the establishment of school gardens with irrigation systems, the construction of improved stoves for meal preparation, and the installation of toilets and handwashing stations.

Juntos Podemos

Asociación Juntos Podemos focuses its work in El Hato, a community of 1,500 people in the municipality of La Antigua, Guatemala. This area is home to indigenous farming communities. Juntos Podemos strives to ensure that schoolchildren learn how to grow vegetables, helping to improve both learning outcomes and food security. Additionally, the organization will support 120 families in establishing family and collective gardens. These efforts aim to promote sustainable agriculture, enhance nutrition, and create green spaces for families.
